	You are currently living in England and a friend of yours				is working at a small zoo in
	the area. You recently read an article in the local pape			r about the likely closure of the
	zoo. You have asked you r friend for some informatio		n, so that you can write a letter
	to the editor of the paper.
	Read the advertisement for the zoo, the newspap er article					, and your friend 's letter.
							why you think the zoo
	Then, using the information, write a letter to the editor, stating
	should be closed.

It seems that the spoilsports
amongst us are	having	their way

	again. Barbarham					Zoo , which
	first opened its doors 54 year s
	ago , has been	visited					by
	inspectors and council							staff and
	looks likely to close within the
	next two months.				who can

	will be sad to learn
					.	No more will
	probable demise
	it provide hour			s o f plea sure for
				old alike.

	Barbarham no lon ger serves a

useful purpose and					that

unsatisfactory. Accord ing to a
tearful Mrs Parkinson , who has
acte d as anima		l feede r, ticket
co llecto r and car-park
attenda nt for the last fifteen
years , many of these						animals
will now have	to be put down							,
as no other zoo can take them .
In these days			of conservation
when there ha s been						an up surge
of interest in creatures of the
wild, it is asto und				ing that sma ll
zoos like Barbarham are being
threatened with closure.							We
would like to hea r from ou r
readers on this issue.
