New York, New York 10055

Dear Sirs:

We intend to purchase a new office copier before the end of the fiscal year. We would like to consider an RBM copier and wonder if you have a model that would suit our needs.

Our office is small, and a copier would generally be used by only three secretaries. We run approximately 3, ooo copies a month and prefer a machine that uses regular paper. We would like a collator, but rarely need to run off than 25 copies at any one time.

We would also like to know about your warranty and repair service.

Since our fiscal year ends June 30, 19_, we hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely yours,

William Wilson

2.What type of letter is it? Dear Sir or Madam

Last week I bought a pocket calculator at your branch in Cheltenham. It seemed to work in the shop. When I got home, I found that it was faulty. It adds and subtracts

perfectly well, but it doesn’t divide or multiply. I took it back to your branch in Turnbridge Wells but they refused to exchange it, saying that I would have to return it to the branch where I bought it. This is impossible because I don’t live in Cheltenham. Please find enclosed the calculator together with the receipt, showing price and date of purchase, and manufacturer’s guarantee.

Yours faithfully
