ния под предводительством Кузьмы Минина и Дмитрия Пожарского штурмом взяли Китай-город, освободив Москву от польских интервентов и продемонстрировав образец героизма и сплоченности всего народа вне зависимости от происхождения, вероисповедания и положения в обществе».

4 ноября (22 октября, ст. ст.) - День народного единства - стал государственным российским праздником. Инициатива выделения этого дня в качестве Дня Единения принадлежит главе Русской Православной Церкви Патриарху Алексию II. В этот день православные чтут память Казанской иконы Божией Матери и память избавления России от поляков в 1612 г. Казанская икона Божией Матери была явлена в Казани 8 июля 1579 г., спустя 24 года после окончательного вхождения города в состав Российского государства.

С 2005 года 4 ноября - День народного единства - в России государственный выходной. 4 ноября 2008 года в нашей стране впервые отмечался новый национальный праздник - День народного единства. История России богата примерами, когда именно единение всего многонационального народа нашей Родины во имя блага и процветания страны открывало путь к укреплению независимости государства и способствовало развитию цивилизованного общества, сохранению культурно-исторического наследия. Празднование Дня народного единства 4 ноября поможет сплотить россиян.

A piece of history: on the 16 December 2004 the State Duma passed the amendments to the Federal Law «On the days of military glory» in three reading. One of the amendments was the introduction of the new holiday the National Unity Day and the actual transfer of the state holiday from 7 November (Day of Accord and Reconciliation) on November 4. The main reason for the transfer, according to most observers, was the desire to get rid of association with the anniversary of the October Socialist Revolution (November 7, 1917).

An explanatory note for the bill says: «November 4, 1612.The warriors led by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky stormed China Town, liberating Moscow

from Polish invaders and demonstrating the model of heroism and solidarity of all people regardless of their origin, religion or social status.»

Nov. 4 (October 22) – The National Unity Day - has become a state Russian holiday. The initiative to highlight the day as the Day of Unity belongs to the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Alexy II. On this day, the Orthodox honors the memory of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and the memory of the deliverance from the Poles in Russia in 1612. Kazan icon of the Mother of God was manifested in Kazan, on July 8, 1579, 24 years after the final entry of the Russian state.

Since 2005, November 4 – the National Unity Day - a national holiday in Russia. November 4, 2008 was celebrated as a new national holiday - the Day of National Unity in our country. Russian History is rich with examples where it is the unity of the multinational people of our country for the good and prosperity of the country paved the way for the strengthening of the independence of the state and contributed to the development of a civilized society, preservation of cultural and historical heritage. The celebration of the National Unity Day on November, 4 will help to unite the Russians.

Международный день КВН

КВН в нашей стране знаком каждому. А 8 ноября ежегодно отмечается праздник, посвященный этой знаменитой игре. Впервые он отмечался в 2001 году. А международным данный праздник называется по той причине, что он уже давно перешагнул границы нашей страны. КВН сегодня существует даже во многих удаленных от России уголках планеты, например, в США и Австралии. Это праздник всех веселых и находчивых людей, которые любят юмор. Сегодня в КВН играют представители всех профессий, возрастов, многих национальностей.

История:

Идея создания этого праздника пришла в голову Александру Маслякову, который является ведущим этой игры уже долгие годы. Кроме того, он также занимает пост президента международного клуба КВН. Выбор пал именно на эту дату, т.к. в этот день в 1961 году в эфире появилась первая игра КВН.

Нужно отметить, что этот праздник пока еще не стал официальным, однако он пользуется достаточно большой популярностью, т.к. очень многие жители стран бывшего Советского Союза просто обожают эту веселую игру.

Причем, сами участники данного телевизионного проекта не считают КВН просто игрой, для них это гораздо больше – образ жизни.

Поздравляем наших действующих и будущих КВН-щиков с их главным праздником! Желаем побед, новых креативных шуток, оптимизма, новых друзей

и выхода на всероссийские сцены!

KVN

KVN «Witty, funny students club» is familiar to everyone in our country. On November, 8 we celebrate holiday dedicated to this famous game. It was first celebrated in 2001. And this holiday is considered to be international for the reason that it has crossed the boundaries of our country. KVN exists today in many remote from Russia parts of the world, for example, in the United States and Australia. It is a holiday of all cheerful and witty people who love humor. Representatives of all professions, ages and nationalities take part in KVN events.

History:

The idea for this celebration came to Alexander Maslyakov, who is the master of ceremonies of this game for many years. In addition, he also serves as President of the International Club of KVN. The choice has fallen on the date, as on this day in 1961, the first game of KVN took place.

It should be noted that the event has not yet become an official date, but it enjoys great popularity, as many residents of the former Soviet Union just love this funny game.

Moreover, the participants of this TV project don’t consider it to be simply a game, for them it is much more - a way of life.

Congratulations to our present and future KVN participants with their main holiday! Wish you new victories, new creative jokes, optimism, new friends, and all country scenes performances!

В общественной жизни России с середины 19 в. и особенно в конце 19-начале 20 вв. важную роль играла студенческая молодежь. Студенты социал-демократы занимали видное место среди активных деятелей Петербургского "Союза борьбы за освобождение рабочего класса". Но наряду с социал-демократическим в движении студенческой молодежи складывались буржуазно-демократическое, либеральное (к нему примыкало "академическое"), а также открыто реакционное направления. Рассматривая это размежевание как необходимый и прогрессивный процесс, В. И. Ленин в то же время отмечал, что оно не должно вести к распаду всех непартийных студенческих организаций, связанных академическими и другими общестуденческими интересами.

Ребята, студенты, поздравляем всех нас с нашим праздником! Поздравляем всех жителей нашей страны: они были молодыми, они есть молодые, они будут в наших рядах!

Желаем всем радости от успехов, продвижения интересных проектов, новых открытий, единомышленников!

Желаем самореализации (помните по А. Маслоу?)! Желаем, чтобы ваши идеи и проекты были услышаны, приняты

The World Youth Day	On November 10, 1945 the Great con-
	ference of Democratic Youth (representa-
	tives from 63 countries) agreed to create
	the World Federation of Democratic Youth
	to promote understanding and cooperation
	of youth in all aspects of society, the fight
	against social, ethnic and racial oppression
	and for peace and security of the people,
	for rights of young people. Since
	November,10 is celebrated as the World
	Youth Day.

History:

In the public life of Russia since the mid of the 19th century and especially in the late 19th and early 20th centuries university students played an important role. Students of the Social Democrats held a prominent place among the active members of the St. Petersburg «League of Struggle for the Freedom of the Working Class». Alongside with the social-democratic movement there were bourgeois-de- mocratic, liberal (adjoined to it «academic»), as well as pure reactionary direction. Considering the division as a necessary and progressive process, Lenin at the same time pointed out that it should not lead to the disappearance of all the non-party student organizations connected by academic and other related general student interests.

Guys, students, congratulate all of us on our holiday! Congratulations to all the inhabitants of our country: they were young, they are

young, they will be on our side!

Международный день	Немного истории: Международный
	1946 года на Всемирном конгрессе сту-
	день студентов установлен 17 ноября
студентов	дентов, состоявшемся в Праге, в память
	чешских студентов-патриотов.

Зарождение высшего образования в нашей стране восходит к эпохе Петра I. Первый в Российской империи научноучебный центр, по его замыслу, должен был включать Университет и Академию. Благодаря Петру в России возникла система профессионального образования. В 1701 г. были созданы навигацкая, пуш-

карская, госпитальная, приказная и другие школы, находившиеся в ведении соответствующих государственных органов. Кроме того, к 1722 году в разных городах России были открыты 42 так называемые «цифирные школы», обеспечивавшие начальное обучение математике.

Всего в России к 1725 году было около 50 епархиальных школ. Правда, позже количество учеников в цифирных школах резко сократилось в связи с открытием епархиальных школ, куда перешли почти все дети священников и дьяконов, и нежеланием «посадских людей» (купечества и ремесленников) отдавать своих детей в цифирные школы (их предпочитали обучать ремеслу).

A piece of history: The International Students’ Day is set on November 17, 1946 at the World Congress of Students, held in Prague, in memory of the Czech studentspatriots.

The origin of higher education in our country dates back to the era of Peter I. The first in the Russian Empire Research and Training Center, according to his plan, was to include the University and the Academy.

Thanks to Peter a system of vocational education appeared in Russia. In 1701,

Navigational, Pushkarskaya, hospital school and other schools were opened and run by the relevant government authorities. In addition, in 1722 42 so-called «tsyfir schools» were opened in different cities of Russia, providing initial learning of mathematics.

By 1725 there were 50 diocesan schools in Russia. However, later the number of pupils in «tsyfir schools» declined sharply due to the opening of the diocesan schools, which have enrolled almost all the children of the priests and deacons, and due to reluctance of «townspeople» (merchants and artisans) to send their children to «tsyfir schools» (they preferred to teach them craft.)
