How to have a long and happy relationship?

The answer to this question is not as simple as we would like it to be. I am convinced that there is no any general recipe for a long-term relationship and you are unlikely to be able to find an exact formula for happy relations. So the key is in some details and some moments that must be paid attention to. Let’s talk about it.

There is no doubt that one of the main things is to learn to hear your partner. It often happens that your partner looks for solace and sometimes you are the only person who can cheer them up and may help in a difficult situation. And it does not only go to such things. It is also quite important to be able to agree when it comes especially to everyday issues like walking a dog, cleaning the room, buying things, washing the dishes etc. Try to avoid potential disputes or conflicts, but if you both happen to have different points of view on some problem, be sure to help your partner to reach compromise.

Another thing to make relations perfect is to have an interest in your partner. When we see that somebody is interested in what we do or what we think, we start feeling that we are doing something cool and that somebody likes it. Feeling needed encourages us to share our achievements or thoughts with this person and so we want to spend more time with them. Speaking about love relationship, it is extremely important for each partner to feel desired. That helps you stay together and also makes your relations stronger enough.

The third thing I would like to speak about is words and actions. Everyone knows that our words can either provoke a smile and make the other person happy or frustrate them so they feel offended. The same goes to the actions we do. Make compliments to the partner, give them an opportunity to understand that they are cool. Gifting flowers, saying pleasant words, helping in some difficult situations, even hugging and kissing (for lovers) – all of these are excellent ways to keep the relations.

The other thing is to have common interests and goals. When two people have common goals in life (or just similar), they may become a team. Working together will help you develop both your relationships and yourselves. Walking the same road of life, you will be able to learn many things about each other and thus know how to behave. Moreover, it will get easier to solve joint problems.

And the last thing, but not least. Never ever demand for much from the partner. You ought to realise that there may be some things your partner cannot do for you. Respect them, remember that they have some time for themselves too. You should not make the partner figure out that you are stealing all of their personal time, their personal life. But at the same time do not forget to keep in touch. Even if you both are thousand miles away from each other, it will be good to find the ways to phone or to text (to send a letter) and so on. Also you should understand that you will have to change yourself to build perfect relationships. Some bad habits can become disruptive for you both. These little sacrifices are worth it.

In conclusion, I want to say: be honest with each other. Being open to the partner is vital for good relations, when it comes specially to love. Do not let yourself lie to your partner, telling the maximum truth about everything. If some problem appears, do not ignore it. On the contrary, discuss these issues together trying to reach for the solution. You should tell softly about what exactly you do not like that your partner does or says and never blame them for their flaws, because none of us is perfect. Appreciate everything your partner does for you. If they value your relations, they will do everything to keep it. And you should do it to.

As I said at the very beginning, there is no simple answer to the question that we have just discussed. But following those little things above will certainly provide you a good relationship. That is for sure.
