1. Произнесите слова по буквам:

plan, asterisk, attribute, table, path, pause, inch, choice, disk, device, name, file, error, programmer.

2. Познакомьтесь с правилами чтения буквы а и прочтите следующие слова:

[æ] can, plan, latter, asterisk, attribute;

[eı] table, place, date, data, range, remainder;

[a:] ask, fast, path, hard, start, task;

[ε] share, compare, prepare, vary, repair, square;

[:] draw, automatically, cause, install, always, pause.

3. Прочтите слова, обращая внимание на чтение буквосочетаний ch, tch, sh, sch:

ch, tch [tʃ ] attach, batch, branch, chain, choice, inch;

sh [ʃ] shorten, she, shine, finish, share, shore;

сh [k] chemistry, scheme, school, mechanism;

ch [ʃ] machine, cliché.

4. Произнесите слова, помня о правилах чтения:

make, mistake, rare, fare, various, add, matter, expand, main, again, apart, market, alarm, chemical, technical, character, shy, shave, shame, check, choose, chief, approach.

5. Прочтите интернациональные слова, встречающиеся в уроке, обращая внимание на их частичное фонетическое сходство с русскими словами:

assistant, student, plan, date, start, automatically, pause, finish, function, computer, program, printer, scanner, manner.

6. Переведите следующие интернациональные слова, а затем проверьте себя по словарю. Важно помнить, что значение ряда интернациональных слов в английском и русском языках не совпадает или частично совпадает:

1. Поставьте артикль a или an перед существительным:

2. Прочтите слова, обращая внимание на чтение артиклей:
