THE BELARUSIAN STATE UNIVERSITY OF CULTURE AND ARTS
The Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts in one of the youngest in Belarus. The university is open to people interested in world and Belarusian culture, traditions, folklore.
The Minsk Institute of Culture was set up in September 1975 and became the founder institution of Belarusian University of Culture.
The University consists of 4 faculties: The Faculty Of Cultural Studies And Social And Cultural Activity, The Faculty Of Traditional Belarusian Culture And Modern Arts, The Faculty Of Music Arts, The Faculty Of Information And Document Communications. The university has a day department for full-time students and a correspondence department for those who work at the same time.
Many foreign students from Poland, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, China, Turkey study at the university.
There are many artistic groups well-known far beyond the borders of our republic, for example, “Volochobniki”, “Gramnitsy”, “Toloka”.
All the students have opportunities to develop their potential and realize themselves as creative individuals. Our students take an active part in the social life of the university. They organize concerts, excursions, festivals, meetings, sport competitions.
The curricula of all specializations cover such subjects as “National History”, “History of National Culture”, “Belarusian Language and Literature”, “Ethnography”, “History of Belarusian Art”.
Since the foundation of the university many articles, monographs, course books, textbooks have been published here. Many professors, assistant professors, lecturers teach and do research in the university.
Our university is well-equipped to organize the process of learning. There are specially equipped rooms for teaching different subjects, halls fitted with technical teaching devices.
The university has a postgraduate course. The stock of the university library numbers 500,000 books in Belarussian, Russian, English, German, French, Spanish. Our library is free of charge for all the students.
