Russia is a presidential republic Head of State is president. The RF consists of 89 constituent entities (republics, krays, oblasts). State power in Russia is divided into 3 independent branches: legislative, executive, judicial. Legislative power belong to the federal Assembly (the Parliament). Executive power belongs to the central and local governments. Judicial power belong system of courts.
The president of the RF is elected for four years on the basis of universal equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot. One and the same person can not gave as President for more than two terms. the function the Presidents are:

to suspect laws passed by local authorities;

to determine and internal and external policy of the state;

to appoint the Chairman of the Government;

to nominate a candidate to the post of the Chairman of the central Bank Constitutional and Supreme court Justices;

to forms the Security Council;

to introduce the State of emergency;

to dissolve the State Duma;
The legislative power in Russia is Federal Assembly. It consist of 2 chambers. The upper chamber is the Federal Council. The lower Chamber ia the State Duma. Each chamber is headed by the Speaker.
The Federation Council includes 3 representatives from each constituent entity of the RF and the State Duma of 450 deputies.
A bill in Russia can be introduced by the State Duma it is passed to the council of Federation, the President of RF.
Each bill has three readings State Duma. If a bill is approved by the State Duma it is passed to the council of Federation. This chamber can disagree, amend or approve a bill. It a bill is signed by President it becomes a law.
Every 16 of RF at the age of 18 has a right to vote. There many political parties: onited Russia, communist, liberal democratic party. The executive power is Russia belongs to the Government. It consist of the Chairman of the Government, deputy chairman are the federal ministers. The main functions of the Government is to exercise law. The functions of the Government are: to ensure the single financial credit and monetary policies; legality, rights and freedoms on the citizens, state security.
The capital of Russia is Moscow. The state emblems are two headed eagle, three colored flag with: white, red and blue stripes.
