Ex 1b, p. 7

For many people success is an important part of their life. They don’t feel the satisfaction or confidence without the recognition of other people. Most people want to get it for their hard work or special talent. But for some people, success is not an important thing. They are completely self-sufficient individuals without universal acceptance. For some people success is the key to happiness. But this isn’t always true. Sometimes success does not make people happy and even brings emptiness and sadness. Success can be dangerous, because sometimes it can cause an addiction and become a kind of drug. You need more and more success and soon this goal can overshadow everything in your life. Also, success can also ruin a person: make it more selfish, cynical and callous. Furthermore, sometimes success can interfere with personal life, making it available to the public or taking up too much time. Therefore some people can’t combine personal life and work.

Ex 3, p. 7

Teachers need to be intelligent and diplomatic to be able to give knowledge to the students and to resolve potential conflicts.

Novelists need to be intelligent and have an imagination to be able express their thoughts competently and make their books interesting to the readers.

Firefighters need to be quick thinking, have team spirit and physical strength to adapt to the unpredictable situation, to withstand high loads and be able to work in a team.

Ex. 4, p. 7

“Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it”. I completely agree with this statement. Many people want to achieve success, but not everyone can do it. They become obsessed with this purpose and put it above everything else. I believe that to achieve a real success you don't think about what other people think about you, don't seek to please everyone, enjoy what you do and don't chase the success. If you get pleasure from what you're doing, you do it well and it increases your chance of success.
