Контрольное задание по 3 части курса (разделы 5 и 6)

Прочитайте задание внимательно, обратите внимание на обязательность употребления указанных грамматических конструкций. Если они не будут использованы, задание не будет зачтено. В пунктах 3 и 4 обратите внимание на ограниченное количество предложений в ответе – от 1 до 3, при этом одно из них обязательно должно содержать указанную грамматическую конструкцию.

Найдите в текстах уроков 13-18 (тексты 13-18) пять предложений грамматической конструкцией «Сложное дополнение» (Complex object), изученной в курсе. Выпишете их и переведите на русский язык.

1) This system make people compete for necessities. – Эта система заставляет людей конкурировать из-за неизбежности.

2) This forced the Central Bank to spend its foreign reserves to defend Russia's currency. – Это привело к тому, что Центральный Банк начал тратить свои запасы иностранной валюты для защиты рубля.

Переведите на английский язык следующие предложения, используя конструкцию «Complex object»:

Ответьте на следующие вопросы по изученным текстам на английском языке. Ответ на каждый вопрос должен содержать от одного до трех предложений, при этом одно из них обязательно должно включать конструкцию «Complex object»:

1. What activities are included in the marketing process?

There are some marketing processes: production, advertising, transportation, processing, packaging, and selling. Marketers want them to be studied thoroughly because every company wants its marketing bridge to work correctly.

2. What is the role of the government in the economic activity?

The government makes the companies work under the existing laws. In the capitalist society, the government's job is to enforce laws and regulations for privately run companies. In a socialist economic system, the government as an agent of the society decides how wealth is distributed among the people.

3. How is cheap labour used in the process of globalization?

Companies use cheap labour to make their business more profitable. Many researches consider cheap labour to be an effective way of reducing costs for employees’ salaries and wages.

4. How do companies recruit new employees?

Different methods are used for it. For example, some companies use social networking sites to recruit new employees, and prefer open positions to be posted on their company websites.

5. What happened in the economy of the Russian Federation in 1998?

There was a financial crisis resulted in a devaluation of the rouble and default on Russian government bonds. The Russian government didn’t expect the crisis to have such devastating results, so they didn’t take the right measures to avoid it.

1. Do you think that presentation skills are important for managers? Why?

I think that presentation skills are important for managers.

If managers have good presentation skills, they will manage all processes more effectively.

2. What is market research?

Market research is a process of management. If marketers want to research some processes, they will explore the modern market.

3. Why are companies driven by the profit motive?

If companies didn’t think about profits, they wouldn’t earn a lot of money.

4. Is unemployment a result of competition in the labor market?

I think they are really interrelated. If there was no competition in the labor market, the quotation for goods would be higher.

5. Is it important to protect nature and environment in the process of globalization?

In my opinion it is very important to protect nature. If people had cared about the environment in the process of globalization, the nature wouldn’t have suffered so much.
