Oksana Zabuzhko
Is a Ukrainian poet,writer and essaist.
Her biography
She was born in September,1960 in Lutsk. Zabuzhko graduated from Kyiv University the Department of Philosophy. According to the writer, she received her philological education at home. Initiated in September 1965, repressions against the Ukrainian intelligentsia forced the family to leave Lutsk, and since 1968 Oksana Zabuzhko lives in Kyiv. He defended his Ph.D. thesis on the theme "Aesthetic Nature of Lyrics as a Kind of Art" (1987).In 1992 and 1994 she travelled to the Unated Stated as a visiting writer and taught briefly at Penn State University, Harvard University and Philosophy of the National Academic Of Sciences of Ukraine.
Public activity
In 1986-1988 he taught aesthetics and history of culture at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Kyiv.
Since 1988 - an employee of the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Member of the Supervisory Board of the International Renaissance Foundation. Member of many editorial boards, jury, competition committees in Ukraine and abroad.
Major works and style
Oksana Zabuzhko's first novel ‘Field Work in Ukrainian Sex’is one of the key texts in post-Soviet Ukrainian literature. The novel was also studied in the context of its prominent style, with "poetic" voice and "intellectual" voice intermingling and creating an intricate structure.
Oksana Zabuzhko's second novel “Museum of Abandoned Secrets”. The novel presents the reality of the relations between the countries .
Oksana Zabuzhko’s most famous non- fiction book is Notre Dame d’Ukraine.

Zabuzhko's works also received international recognition, especially in the broadest in Central and Eastern Europe. her works have been translated into many languages.
Writer Zabuzhko express her views quite emphatically, but her argument are so devastatingly accurate that it is difficult to disagree. She usually is not very eager to talk with press, because she rarely meets interlocutors in this finds sufficiently interesting.
