Предлагаемое учебно-методическое пособие содержит упражнения, предназначенные для совершенствования речевых умений студентов 2 курса английского отделения факультетов иностранных языков.
Пособие предназначено для проведения аудиторных занятий по английскому языку, адресовано студентам, изучающим английский язык (в том числе как второй иностранный), а также лицам, самостоятельно изучающим английский язык.

Предисловие
Настоящее пособие предназначено для закрепления и контроля лексических навыков в рамках учебной дисциплины «Практический курс первого иностранного языка», а также для дальнейшего формирования и развития профессиональных умений и навыков переводчика для студентов второго курса факультетов иностранных языков, обучающихся по специальности «Лингвист-переводчик».
Пособие включает в себя упражнения для перевода, соответствующие тематике разделов 1-5 базового учебника UpstreamIntermediate, что позволяет интенсивнее тренировать активную лексику в речи, а также способствует интеграции переводческих умений. Необходимость употребления уже знакомой лексики в новом контексте повышает учебную мотивацию у студентов.
Цель данного пособия – содействовать отработке применения лексического учебного материала студентами в адекватном контексте и помочь им овладеть умениями и навыками письменного перевода.
Пособие может быть использовано как для работы в аудитории, так и для самостоятельной работы студентов.
