ВВЕДЕНИЕ
Методические рекомендации предназначены для студентов I курса факультета заочного обучения СГУС, изучающих английский язык.
Основной целью дисциплины «Иностранный язык» в неязыковом вузе на факультете заочного обучения является обучение практическому владению иностранным языком, которое включает обучение переводу спортивной литературы и формирование иноязычной речевой деятельности для повседневного и профессионального общения. Задача изучения иностранного языка в неязыковом вузе заключается в том, чтобы научить будущего специалиста в области физической культуры, спорта и туризма получать необходимую информацию на иностранном языке и дать ему элементарные навыки общения на иностранном языке, особенно в современных условиях расширяющихся международных культурных и спортивных связей. Исходя из этих требований, методические рекомендации предполагают понимание иноязычной информации и умение выделить наиболее существенное.
Структура пособия включает в себя спортивный словарь каждого семестра, тексты для домашнего чтения, комплекс грамматических упражнений, вопросы по устным темам «Я – студент», «Город».

1.Повторите спряжение глаголов “to be ”, “to have”; неопределенные времена действительного залога.
Глагол to be
Глагол to be (быть, находиться, являться) имеет следующие формы в простом настоящем, прошедшем и будущем временах:

В вопросительных предложениях глагол to be употребляется перед подлежащим. В отрицательных предложениях отрицание not ставится после глагола to be.
He is a trainer. Is he a trainer – Yes, he is. No, he is not (he isn’t). He is not a trainer. He isn’t a trainer. Who is a trainer? Petrov is a trainer.
Глагол to have
Глагол to have означает «иметь, владеть». Он имеет следующие формы в простом настоящем, прошедшем и будущем временах:

Вопросительная форма глагола to have образуется двумя способами: 1) have ставится перед подлежащим.
Have you a sister? Yes, I have. No, I have not (haven’t).
2) с помощью вспомогательного глагола do (does в третьем лице единственного числа).
Do you have a sister? Yes, I do. No, I do not (don’t).
Отрицательная форма глагола to have образуется с помощью отрицания not или no.
He has not a family. He has no family.
После отрицания no артикль перед существительным не употребляется.
В разговорной речи часто вместо глагола have в настоящем времени употребляется I have got (I’ve got), he has got (he’s got).
Неопределённые времена действительного залога.
Неопределённые времена употребляются для обозначения обычного, регулярно повторяющегося действия в настоящем, прошедшем или будущем времени.
Настоящее неопределённое время
Present Indefinite (Simple)
Настоящее неопределённое время образуется при помощи инфинитива без частицы to, в 3 лице единственного числа к глаголу добавляется окончание
– s. Вопросительная и отрицательная формы образуются при помощи вспомогательного глагола do, в 3 лице единственного числа does.
They train every day. Do they train every day? Yes, they do. No, they do not (don’t). They do not train every day. When do they train? Who trains every day?
Вопрос к подлежащему не требует вспомогательного глагола. Наиболее употребляемые наречия: always – всегда, often – часто, usually – обычно, seldom
– редко, sometimes – иногда.
Прошедшее неопределённое время
Past Indefinite (Simple)
Прошедшее неопределённое время правильных глаголов образуется при помощи окончания – ed, которое прибавляется к инфинитиву без частицы to; неправильные глаголы даны во второй колонке в таблице неправильных глаголов, которую можно найти в словаре или в учебнике английского языка.

Вопросительная и отрицательная формы образуются при помощи вспомогательного глагола did и первой формы смыслового глагола.
He translated (wrote) a letter yesterday.
Did he translate (write) a letter yesterday? Yes, he did. No, he did not (didn’t). He did not translate (write) a letter yesterday.
When did he translate (write) a letter? Who translated (wrote) a letter yesterday?
Вопрос к подлежащему не требует вспомогательного глагола.
Будущее неопределённое время
Future Indefinite (Simple)
Будущее неопределённое время образуется при помощи вспомогательного глагола shall (для первого лица единственного и множественного числа) или will (для всех остальных лиц) и инфинитива смыслового глагола без частицы to.
He will read the text tomorrow.
Will he read the text tomorrow? Yes, he will. No, he will not. He will not read the text tomorrow.
When will he read the text? Who will read the text tomorrow?
Shall not = shan’t. Will not = won’t.
Вспомогательный глагол will может употребляться во всех лицах.
Выполните грамматические упражнения
1. Поставьте следующие предложения в форму множественного числа, сделав соответствующие изменения форм имени существительного, местоимения, глагола и артикля. Переведите предложения на русский язык:
Образец: He has a friend. They have friends.
This is a sportsman. There is a stadium in our city. He takes part in contests. She goes in for sport. He will win a medal. He has one lesson today.
2. Перепишите следующие предложения, содержащие разной формы сравнения, переведите на русский язык:
Lenin Stadium is the largest stadium in our country. The more you train, the better results you show. This book is the most interesting.
3. Поставьте следующие предложения в отрицательную и вопросительную формы:
There are many Masters of Sport at our Institute. He goes in for sport. They took part in the competition. I shall qualify for the 2nd degree.
4. Поставьте следующие предложения в прошедшее и будущее неопределенное время:
I study at the Institute. He sets a record.

ABOUT MYSELF
My name is Boris Smirnov. Now I am 20 years old. I was born in Smolensk in 1989. Our family lives in Smolensk in Kirov Street. We have a two-room flat on the second floor. I have a father, a mother and a sister. First of all some words about my parents. My mother is a doctor. She works at a hospital. Mу father is a teacher. He is a teacher of History. He works at school. My mother is 42 and my father is 45 years old. My grandmother does not live with us. She is a pensioner. She is not very old, she is 65. But she is often ill and my sister and I help her about the house. My sister`s name is Ann. She is a schoolgirl. She is in the 9th form. Her dream is to enter the Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism. She is a good skier. She has the second degree in skiing. She is fond of sports. I am a trainer. I finished school 3 years ago and entered the Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism. I am a parttime student. I combine my work with studies. Being a schoolboy I began to go in for sports. I went in for different kinds of sports but I liked gymnastics best of all. I spend much time in a gym. I have the first degree. I want to become a Master of Sports so I train hard. I have 5 or 6 trainings a week. I often take part in different competitions. I was the champion of our city. Last month I participated in regional contest and won the first place. We study many subjects at the Academy. Extra-mural students have two examination sessions a year. We take some exams and oral tests. I like to study at the Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism.

MOSCOW - THE CAPITAL OF THE 1980 OLYMPICS.
Moscow, the capital of Russia, is one of the largest cities in the world. Its population numbers over 8 million. The history of the city is closely connected to that of the country as a whole. Moscow is the political, scientific and cultural centre of Russia.
The centre of Moscow is Red Square. Here the Kremlin is situated, whose red brick walls are crowned with towers famous throughout the world. The Kremlin was, is and will remain the heart of the city, the country and the people. Many monuments of the history and culture of the Russian people are located in the Kremlin.
Moscow was awarded the title of Hero City for the courage, heroism and steadfastness of its citizens during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).
In the centre of the city we can see the Bolshoi and Maly theatres, major museums and picture galleries and old monuments. Moscow is growing constantly. Moscow today is the city of wide streets and large parks. One can get a good view of Moscow from the Lenin hills, where Moscow Lomonosov University is situated.
After Moscow was chosen as the site for the 1980 Olympics it received the right to call itself an Olympic city. Muscovites, with the help of the whole country have done everything necessary to give a fitting reception to the visitors from all over the globe. We have done everything to hold the Olympics on a high level. A number of the city’s large sport arenas have been remodeled in preparation for the games. The new Olympic facilities meet the most modern standards in architecture, technology and planning. Especially noteworthy among them is the Druzhba multipurpose gymnasium with seats for 3.000 spectators. The unique sports complex has been erected in Prospect Mira. It contains the largest indoor stadium in Europe and a swimming-pool. Much has been done on organizing transportation for athletes, officials, journalists, guests of the Olympics and tourists. The Olympics in Moscow gave new force to the noble idea of peace and progress.

ST. PETERSBURG
St.Petersburg is the country's second industrial, cultural and research centre. The city's history is being kept alive in its streets, avenues, squares, architecture such as Bronze Horseman, the monument to Peter I, who founded the city, the memorial at the Piskaryovskoye Cemetery in honour of the heroic defenders of the city who barred the way to the nazy invaders, etc. Despite the 900-day siege and the tremendous damage, the Hero City was rebuilt quickly.
