Phraseology.

According to Arnold we can divide phraseology into:

1. Nominal phrases (broad church-широкий спектр идей (church-line 3));

2. Verbal phrases (to drum up – поощрять (drum-line 1));

3. Adjectival phrases (as easy as old Tilly-свой в доску, рубаха-парень (old-line 18));

4. Adverbial phrases (out the window - мимо кассы (window – line 2));

5. Prepositional phrases (in the course of);

6. Conjunctional phrases (as long as);

7. Interjectional phrases (well, I never);

8. A stereotyped sentence also introduced into speech as a ready-made formula (Take your time!)

There is no phraseology in this poem at all. That’s why I had to write some abstract examples, sometimes using the words from the text.
