THE PRE-PROJECT STUDIES
PRE-PROJECT
Objectives:
Study & describe with more details the development recommended by the conceptual studies. (This document will be the basis of the Basic Engineering)
Determine costs and execution schedule with sufficient robustness to allow launching the Project.
Establish the «Basis of Design» , which will be the reference document for the whole Project phase.
Assess all remaining risks and their potential impact for the execution of the Project as well as during the life of the field.
The pre-project will allow to propose to sanction the Project, and if approved, to launch the execution of the Project (or at least to progress into Basic
Engineering, FEED studies, and to issue the related Call For Tenders, …)

PRE-PROJECT CONTENT
Basic data & Basis of Design
Reservoir Development Plan
Hydrocarbons process studies (see next slide)
Utilities, Offsites (Flares, storages, buildings, etc..)
PFDs, simplified PIDs, lay out
Safety systems
Description of wells and surface facilities

Costs estimate (see methodology here after)
Define Project Referential (Company rules & Specifications to be applied)
Economic evaluation
26
RESERVOIR DEVELOPMENT PLAN
The Reservoir Development Strategy needs to be formalized as it is the corner stone of both the development and production phases.
More specifically it will precise further the reservoir information to be acquired during the development and production phases
It could also define potential additional appraisal to be completed before the Decision to Develop is taken.
