Moscow, the capital of Russia

The capital city of Russia is Moscow. It was founded in 1147 by Russian prince Yuri Dolgoruki.

The heart of Moscow is Red Square. It has more historic associations than any other place in Moscow. The Kremlin and St. Basil’s Cathedral are masterpieces of ancient Russian architecture. The main Kremlin tower, the Saviour Tower, has become the symbol of the country. On the territory of the Kremlin you can see old cathedrals, the Bell Tower of Ivan the Great, the Palace of Congresses, the Tsar-Cannon and the Tsar-Bell.

There are a lot of beautiful palaces, old mansions, cathedrals, churches and monuments in Moscow.

Moscow has got more than 80 museums, the largest are the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and the State Tretyakov Gallery.

Moscow is famous for its theatres. The best known of them is the Bolshoi Opera House.

Visitors can find a lot of other places of interest in Moscow such as the Moscow University area and the observation platform from which you can see a panorama of Moscow. Arbat Street and the Exhibition area are also worth visiting.

Russia. Sightseeing (Moscow + St. Petersburg)

St. Petersburg is the second largest city in Russia and one of the beautiful cities in the world. It was founded in 1703 by Peter the Great as the “Window on the West”.

St. Petersburg is indeed a wonderful city, at every turn there is something to catch your eye. The Winter Palace, the Russian Museum, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Peter-and-Paul Fortress, the Admiralty Building attract thousands of tourists from every corner of the world.

Petersburg’s many museums house some of the world’s most famous art collections. The Hermitage, for example, contains the richest collection of pictures in the world.

The city is called the Northern Venice because there are 65 rivers, arms and canals there with artistically decorated bridges.

It’s also famous for its beautiful white nights.

Russia is one of the favourite tourist destinations in the world.

The sights of Krasnoyarsk

Krasnoyarsk was founded by a Moscow nobleman and army-commander Andrei Dubensky in 1628. The city is named by combination of words “krasny” (beautiful) and “yar” (hill). The city stretches from east to west along the banks of the Yenisey river.

Krasnoyarsk is the capital of one of the most powerful regions of Russia, large industrial, cultural, scientific, transport and spiritual centre.

There are a lot of sights in Krasnoyarsk.

There is a chapel on the Karaulnaya mountain, which serves as a symbol of the city. From there you can see a wonderful panorama of Krasnoyarsk.

Citizens of Krasnoyarsk and its guests have wide opportunities to get acquainted with the works of actors, musicians and artists. In our city there is the Drama Theatre named after A.S. Pushkin, the Opera and Ballet House, the Musical Theatre, the Puppet Theatre, the Big Concert Hall, the Small Philharmonic Hall, the Organ Hall and the Circus.

In Krasnoyarsk there is the Territory Museum, the Cultural-Historical Centre, the Art Gallery named after V.I. Surikov, the Exhibition Centre.

A lot of sports competitions are held in Krasnoyarsk. There is a sports palace named after Ivan Yarygin, fun-park “Bobrovy Log” and a lot of other sports constructions.

Krasnoyarsk is famous for its Siberian hospitality. You can visit restaurants, cafes, bars, night clubs, cinemaparks.

Our city is the city of tourists and travellers. Different kinds of tourism are being developed here – hiking, skiing, cycling and others. Guests of our city can go on an excursion around the city, enjoy themselves somewhere on the bank of the Yenisey or on the Krasnoyarsk Sea, visit the zoo “Roev Ruchei”, get acquainted with the unique natural reservation “Stolby”.

“Stolby” is a peculiar natural monument and pride of Krasnoyarsk. It is situated in 3 kilometres from the city. For millions of years rains and winds sculptured from wild stone the gigantic figures, most of which were named by people: “Feathers”, “Lion Gates”, “Devil’s Finger”, “Totem”, “Grandfather” and others.

Krasnoyarsk is really a big attraction for tourists.
