Station of emergency care is a medical establishment with carrying out emergency medical aid to population during 24hours.

Emergency medicine is specialty medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of acute illness. Urgent Care Centers are often staffed by physicians, physician’s assistants, nurses and nurse practitioners. They offer primary care treatment to patients who desire or require immediate care, but who do not reach the acuity that requires care in an emergency department or admission to a hospital.

Emergency medical aid (EMA) is a kind of special extra hospital medical aid in maxmal volume in case of sudden diseases and accidents at place and during transportation to hospital.

Urgent medical aid is a kind of help to patients in case of acute diseases or chronic diseases complications who has out-patient service in a territorial policlinic. It’s realized by duty policlinic physician and nurse, who goes to patient home to render urgent medical aid.

Emergency medical Aid (EMA) station is a medical establishment rendering 24-hours special medical aid to adult and child population during before-hospital stage in case of accidents and conditions under the threat for life and health. Necessarily EMA station renders emergency medical aid for everyone according to call place, under transport to medical establishments, under direct contact. Its level is determined with medical-economical standards.

EMA station works in 24 hours duty regime. Its ready to render emergency medical aid to population on appointed territory. In case of extreme situation-out side the appointed territory too. EMA station is a part of EMA system in case of extreme situations. It must be have a month stock of medicines, dressing, emergency medical equipment, sets to form additional exit teams, stable and autonomic power supply system, regular operative communication and reserve transport.

Emergency medical Aid (EMA) station doesn’t:

1) realize temporal disability examination, register sick-leave certificates,

2) realize forensic-medical, alcohol and drug examination and doesn’t make decision and medical certificates in this cases,

3) realize consultative examination,

4) doesn’t give advices about following treatment.

Main tasks of EMA station (department):

1. To render medical aid to patients, accidents victims and during transport to hospital at most fast after call.

2. To transport patients if it’s necessary emergency aid (except infectious diseases), accident victims, women in child birth, premature children together with mother according to physicians` and medical-preventive establishments administration demands.

3. EMA station provides rendering emergency medical aid under sudden diseases which threats to patient’s life (acute violation of cardio-vascular, central nervous, respiratory and digestive system functions, under labors outside specialized departments and establishments.

Main functions of EMA station:

1. to receipt patients` calls and their providing,

2. to render EMA to patients and accident victims during before hospital stage according to medical-economical standards,

3. to transport patients and victims who needs medical escort to hospitals,

4. to prepare and direct exit teams outside appointed territory to take part in liquidation of extreme situations consequences,

5. to register free beds in hospitals and determining of emergency hospitalization places.

7. to provide interaction with others medical establishments, policies, fire stations etc.

8. to inform Public Health administration about accidents, catastrophes etc.

EMA Exit team.

To render EMA exit teams are created. Number and form of exit is defined by chief doctor (not less 0,7 per 10000population). Every EMA exit stations (except IV-V categories), must have specialized teams: cardio-reanimation, psychiatric, neurological, intensive therapy and reanimation including child one.

Main functions of EMA exit team:

1. diagnostics and determination of patient’s state,

2. emergency aid to victims,

3. emergency hospitalization,

4. transport of patients and victims who need escort to hospital,

5. communication with EMA station dispatcher, other teams, medical specialists, policies, fire stations etc.,

6. emergency consultative aid to teams and other medical workers at call place,

7. writing information to patient s about rendered medical aid,

8. specialized medical aid under patient’s transport to medical establishments,

9. report about medicines and others remedies use, their timely change and replenishment.

EMA hospital. EMA hospital is a medical establishment rendering 24 hours hospital emergency aid to population under acute diseases, traumas, accidents, poisonings in daily conditions and extreme situations. It’s organized in regional centers and cities with not less 300000 population and can work like an independent establishment or be a part of EMA unity.

Main tasks of EMA hospital:

1. 24 hours inpatient EMA to patients and victims under pathologic conditions with threat to life, sudden health worsening and extreme situations,

2. Medical-diagnostic aid to aforesaid groups till final result,

3. Intercommunication with medical and others establishments under decision organizational questions EMA rendering,

4. To work out prognoses of aid needs,

5. To improve organizational forms and methods of diagnostics, treatment and prophylactic,

6. Organizing and realizing measures to prepare hospitals to work in extreme situations,

7. To create current reserve to provide hospital work during extreme situations,

8. To inform Public Health and local authorities about dangerous infectous diseases and mass affections cases of population/
