PROCEDURE:

(1) Pilotage is compulsory for all vessels of 150 NRT and over except for warships, pleasure craft, MENAS tenders, local craft and tugs, dredgers, barges or similar vessels who navigate w~hin the Gulf area.

(2) Pilotage is available H24 (LNG carriers and vessels of 300m or over in length, HJ).

(3) Notice of ETA: Vessels should send ETA 48h and 24h in advance, and corrected ETA if more than 1hin error.

(4) Before arrival, vessels should inform Port Control of the following information:

(a) Vessel'sname

(b) Port of registry

(c) Masters name

(d) GT, length and draught

(e) Cargo to discharge, load, or in transit m Pilot boarding arrangements

(g) Number of crew (stating number of deck crew available for manoeuvring)

(h) Health information

(i) Last port of call.

(5) Vessels requiring apilot should contact Port Control at least 2h in advance of arrival at the Pilot Boarding Area.

(6) Vessels of less than 150 NRT should obtain permission to enter the channel or to leave aberth.

(7) Vessels Outward·Bound should request pilot at least 1hbefore departure.

(8) Pilot Boarding Area is 2 nmiles SE of Jebel Ali Lt buoy.

EMERGENCY CO-ORDINATION:

(1) In Ihe event of any emergency (fire, explosion, grounding etc) contact the Port Control by telephone or VHF Chs 16 18A or 69.

(2) The decision to declare an emergency and to close the port to shipping and/or restrict all or any movements w~hin the port will be made by the Hr Mr (or his appointed assistant(s)) by broadcast on VHF Chs 16 or 18A.

(3) Emergency s~ation reports, if required, will be made on VHF Chs 18A or 69.

(1) Daily weather forecasts can be obtained, on request, from the Port Control

(2)Vessels should contact the station operator, Crescent Petroleum Company, by telex, either through the vessel'sagent or direct.

(3)Notice of ETA: Vessels should send ETA stating either UT (GMT) or LT, 72h, 24h, 12h and 4h in advance.

(4)Any changes to ETA 011 h should be notified.

(5)The 72h message should contain the following information:

(a)ETA

(b)Last port of call

(c)Any sickness on board?

(d)Has vessel aclean bill of health?

(e)Cargo quantity and grades expected to be lifted (in long tons)

(6)The 12h message should include definite indications as to whether the vessel is ready to load. Precise ETA should be sent with the 4h message.

(7)Vessels arriving should contact Mubarek Terminal on VHF Ch 71 when within range.

(8)Weather and other factors permitting, vessels will normally be moored HJ and unmoored H24. The Mooring Master remains onboard until the vessel'sdeparture and has sole control of radio installations during the period that the vessel is manoeuvring or moored. No radio transmissions will be permitted except by the express permission of the Mooring Master. Only the Mooring Master may transmit on VHF Ch 17 and Ch 71 during the period he is onboard.

(9)Vessels required to leave the terminal area on account of bad weather should keep in contact with the terminal through the Company Radio Station at Mubarek Oil Terminal, call sign MUBARAKA.

(10)Pilot boards in the tanker anchorage area, radius 0·54 n miles, centred on position 25°50'·60N55°1T·60E.
