About Myself and My Family

Hello! I am Stas Klimov. I am seventeen. I was born on March 12 (March the twelfth), 1993. I live in Volgograd. I went to secondary school No 3. I finished it in June this year. I did well at school. My favourite subjects were biology and chemistry. But I was especially fond of sports. At the age of twelve I began to take up swimming. I also practised diving, played football and basketball. But my main event is swimming. I take part in competitions and sometimes win first or second places. My best result is gold medal at the regional competition. I train hard. My dream is to win the title at the national and international contests. I am a first-year student at the Volgograd Physical Education Academy now. My hobbies are sports, music and computers.

I live with my parents. We are five in the family: mother, father, sister, brother and I. My father is forty-four. He is a boxing coach. He works at the Volgograd special Olympic sports school. He was a good boxer when he was a student. He was the city champion twenty years ago.

My mother is forty-one. She is not an athlete. She is a teacher. She teaches History at a secondary school. My mother is fond of figure skating and often watches championships on TV.

My sister's name is Julia. She is younger than I am. She is 15. Her favourite sport is gymnastics. She spends a lot of time in the gym. Her dream is to be a good gymnast.

My elder brother Alexander is 19. He studies at the Polytechnical University. His future profession is a computer programmer. Alexander likes sports very much. He practises throwing. His event is discus throwing. Alexander takes part in different championships and often wins the title. He set the city record last month. My brother, father and I are football fans.

My grandparents (my father's parents) live in Volgograd. They are on pension. We meet every weekend. I love them very much.

Лебедева, Татьяна Романовна (р. 21 июля 1976, Стерлитамак, Башкирская АССР. После окончания школы в 1993 году переехала в г. Волгоград для продолжения обучения в Училище олимпийского резерва и Волгоградской академии физической культуры, которую закончила с отличием в 2001 г.) – Олимпийская чемпионка по прыжкам в длину (long jump) 2004 г., трехкратный серебряный призер Олимпийских игр (2000, 2008) и бронзовый призер Олимпийских игр (2004). Шестикратная чемпионка мира по легкой атлетике. Имеет звание «Заслуженный мастер спорта».

Слесаренко, Елена Владимировна (р. 28.02.1982, Волгоград) – чемпионка Олимпийских игр 2004г. в прыжках в высоту (high jump) (2,06м - ОР), чемпионата мира 2004 в помещении (indoor), победительница кубка (cup) Европы 2004, чемпионка России 2002, 2004. Личный рекорд — 2,04м (2004). Заслуженный мастер спорта по легкой атлетике.

Маринин, Максим Викторович (р. 23 марта 1977, Волгоград) – российский фигурист, Олимпийский чемпион по фигурному катанию на Олимпиаде в Турине в паре с Татьяной Тотьмяниной. Кроме того, они – двукратные чемпионы мира, пятикратные чемпионы Европы и трёхкратные чемпионы России.

Плющенко, Евгений Викторович (р. 3 ноября 1982, Солнечный, Хабаровский край. Когда Евгению было три года, семья переехала в Волгоград. В возрасте 4-х лет начал заниматься фигурным катанием) – российский фигурист, олимпийский чемпион 2006 года, двукратный серебряный медалист Олимпиад (2002 и 2010 годов), трёхкратный чемпион мира и шестикратный чемпион Европы в мужском одиночном катании (men’s singles). Заслуженный мастер спорта России.

Панкратов, Денис Владимирович (р. 4 июля 1974, Волгоград) – российский пловец, специалист в плавании баттерфляем (butterfly). Двукратный олимпийский чемпион, чемпион мира, многократный чемпион Европы. Окончил ВГАФК в 1996г. Заслуженный мастер спорта (1995).

Садовый, Евгений Викторович (р. 19 января 1973, Волжский) – российский спортсмен, пловец, специалист в плавании вольным стилем (free style). Трёхкратный олимпийский чемпион, четырёхкратный чемпион Европы. Окончил ВГАФК в1994г. Заслуженный мастер спорта России (1992).
