New routes (Northern Way)
New fields of resources (gas, oil)
New routes
Panama canal
France began work on the canal in 1881, but had to stop because of engineering problems and high mortality due to disease. The United States (US) later took over the project and took a decade to complete the canal in 1914, enabling ships to avoid the lengthy, hazardous Cape Horn route around the southernmost tip of South America (via the Drake Passage) or to navigate the Strait of Magellan.
New routes
Suez canal
It is an artificial sea-level waterway in Egypt, connecting the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea. Opened in November 1869 after 10 years of construction work, it allows ship transport between Europe and Asia without navigation around Africa.
New routes
Northern Sea Route
Gains from shipping on an ice-free Northern Sea Route would be reduced number of days at sea and more than a doubling of the vessel fuel efficiency if shipping from northern European to northern Pacific ports.
New routes
Benifits:
●Saving fuel;
●Reduction of journey time (reduce labor costs, cost of the freight vessels and so on);
●No payment for passage (like in Suez Canal);
●No queues;
●No pirates.
New routes
Baikal-Amur Mainline
1888 – Impossible to make
1926 – Trying to start construction
Now is working
Improvements in current railroads in Siberia can help to increase bandwidth and this roads will compete with Suez channel.
Routes
Making routes fore new tours.
Making routes to transfer goods.
New algorithms/ methods
The use of new algorithms and techniques for finding the optimal arrangement of objects:
●The location of first-aid, fire, supermarkets, post offices, etc.
●Location of schools, points agitation, Polls and hospitals.
Forecast
Researchers from Rochester and Microsoft are making software to predict movement of a person for some years (5 years). Current studies have shown that the precision of predictions.
