1.Write a letter to your parents explaining your feelings and plans and asking for their permission to remain in the States for another year or two.

2.Telephone your parents and explain to them that you have decided to stay in the States for another year or two in order to get a job or a master's degree.

3.Buy a round-trip airplane ticket to your country (returning to the United States in three weeks) so you can talk to your parents face-to-face about what you plan to do.

4.Return to your native country and start looking for a job there, with the hope that you can return to the States in a year or two.

5.Find a job immediately, even if it isn't exactly what you want, so you can tell your parents that you are staying in the States because you already have a job.
