69. Are people who have economic training in demand in modern society?

People who have economic training are in demand in modern society because economics plays great role in our life. The study of economics helps to understand the society and its economic forces better and enable to live a fuller life.

Economists are employed in banking, finance, accountancy, commerce, marketing, business administration, lobbying and non- or not-for profit organizations. The importance of all this organizations is considerable in modern society.

Unfortunately, nowadays the economy of Ukraine is not well developed. I believe that rapid changes in industrial and market structure in the economy of our country will greatly increase demand for highly skilled specialists with sound expertise in this area, thus providing an opportunity for a successful career in both private and public sectors.

I am very grateful to my Alma Mater for teaching me how to survive in a highly competitive and challenging environment through persistence and hard work.

70. Why is the economist’s education never really finished?

Nowadays the profession of an economist has become one the most useful, modern and interesting. That is because our country has market economy.

An economist executes different functions. He or she can determine the structure of an enterprise and calculate costs as well as probable profits. An economist analyses the condition of the market and prospects for its development in the future. They study such disciplines as accounting, insurance, banking, management, macroeconomic analysis, microeconomic analysis or financial statement analysis, statistics or some types of applied mathematics. These subjects help to become a high quality economist.

As society and the economy is not standing still, then the profession of an economist is not limited to once acquired knowledge. The economist must constantly improve his/her knowledge, meeting the environmental change. That's why economist’s education never really finishes.

Anyway, I am sure in order to be a successful and prosperous economist I must be very hard working.
