Предисловие
Перед Вами учебное пособие серии “General English for Technical Students”, разработанное преподавателями Института языковой коммуникации Томского политехнического университета специально для студентов первого курса ТПУ, изучающих английский язык на основе многоуровневого подхода с ориентацией на
международные стандарты.
Учебное пособие серии “General English for Technical Students” по коммуникативным модулям 1 “Personal Identification” и Модулю 2 “Hobbies and Interests ” рассчитано на интенсивное изучение английского языка в количестве 70 часов (44 часа аудиторной работы и 26 часов самостоятельной работы).
В основу разработки учебного пособия серии “General English for Technical Students” положен модульный принцип. Это означает, что с помощью учебных пособий данной серии Вы будете изучать 16 коммуникативных модулей.

Учебное пособие серии “General English for Technical Students” предназначено для студентов Элементарного уровня (Elementary – Pre-Intermediate) языковой подготовки.
Учебно-методический материал пособия структурирован таким образом, чтобы каждый студент имел возможность не только улучшить знание английского языка на данном уровне, но и осуществить переход на более высокий уровень владения английским языком посредством интенсивной самостоятельной работы во внеаудиторное время.
Структура пособия включает четыре тематических раздела (Units 1-4), видеоурок (Video Class) и словарный лист (Word List).
