Особенноости употребления Страдательного залога в английском языке.

Некоторые английские глаголы могут употребляться (иметь при себе)с двумя дополнениями (с прямым и косвенным одновременно).

E.g. She gave him an interesting book.

1. him – беспредложное косвенное дополнение

2. an interesting book – прямое дополнение

Т.о., каждое из этих двух дополнений, согласно правилу, может стать подлежащим в страдательной конструкции:

An interesting book was given to him. He was given an interesting book.

Рассмотрим различные группы глаголов, которые строят предложения в страдательном залоге по этому правилу.

1. Следующие глаголы требуют особого внимания:

to give to show to offer to tell to pay to send to promise

т.к. все они имеют две страдательные конструкции.

E.g. They showed us a film.

We were shown a film. A film was shown to us.

II.Следующие глаголы: to buy to sell to read to write to sing to explain to repeat to dictate to describe to mention to introduce to declare to deliver to recommend to prove to point out to present

имеют только одну страдательную конструкцию, в которой прямое дополнение становиться подлежащим (чаще всего- неодушевленное существительное) E.g. The teacher explained us a new rule. A new rule as explained to us.

III. C глаголами

to ask to teach to envy to forgive

настоятельно рекомендуется мспользование только одной страдательной конструкции, когда дополнение (песпредложное косвенное), чаще всего обозначающее лицо, ставиться подлежащим в страдательной конструкции.

E.g.

They asked the lecturer a lot of questions. The lecturer was asked a lot of questions.

They taught him this subject in the college. He was taught this subject in the college.

His relatives forgave him his mistake. He was forgiven his mistake.

They envy her beautiful hair. She is envied her beautiful hair.
