Initial Values

The Initial Values node adds initial values for the flow variables that serve as an initial condition for a transient simulation. Also specify which of the fluids initially occupies the domain selection.

D O M A I N S E L E C T I O N

From the Selection list, choose the domains to define the initial values.

I N I T I A L V A L U E S

Enter values or expressions for the initial value of the Velocity field u and for the Pressure p. The default values are all 0.

In The Turbulent Flow, Two-Phase, Level Set and Phase Field Interfaces, initial values for the turbulence variables are also specified. By default these are specified using the predefined variables defined by the expressions in Initial Values. For the Level Set and Phase Field interfaces, click the Fluid 1 button or the Fluid 2 button under Fluid initially in domain to prescribe the initial fluid in the current domain selection. Add another Initial Values node to specify the initial fluid in another domain.

Volume Force

The Volume Force node specifies the body force, F, acting on the fluid. Use it to incorporate the effects of a user-defined volume force.

D O M A I N S E L E C T I O N

From the Selection list, choose the domains where the volume force acts on the fluid.

V O L U M E F O R C E

Enter the components of the volume force F in the Volume force fields.

Gravity

The Gravity node adds the force Fg in Equation 6-1, which is equal to g, where g is the gravity vector.

From the Selection list, choose the domains where gravity acts on the fluid.
