My future profession part I
It is very important for everybody to make the right choice of a profession. But occupation you want to devote your life to bring you satisfaction. So it should be something you can do and you really want to.
I want to become a lawyer. Now that our country’s economy is transforming on the free market principles the profession I’d like to be in is very important. There are many places where the services of a lawyer are badly needed. They include state and private companies, offices, department stores, educational establishments, etc.
To become a qualified specialist in this field of knowledge one must enter the Law academy and take a number of serious courses for at least five years. At the end of the instruction one has to pass the state examinations and keep final dissertation before a board of prominent scientists and professors.
Yet I think this profession is worth taking pains, one’s endeavor and striving.
Part II
The rights and duties of our citizens are written in the Constitution of Ukraine adopted in 1996. Our people are obliged to safeguard the interests of Ukraine, to defend the Motherland, to respect the rights and lawful interest of other persons, to be uncompromising toward anti-social behavior and so on, and so forth. The people of our specialty are to maintain public order and observe protection of the rights, freedoms and property of citizens, their life and health. The law obliges the lawyer to ensure that all citizens’ rights are abided by.
With our experienced militia, science and technology, computers and a cooperative public, it is not so difficult to catch a criminal. But it is far more difficult to prevent a crime and to prevent a person who stumbled from falling. Our main task today is to prevent crime. We must show concern for first offenders before they begin to slide down.
So, I think that a profession of a lawyer is very noble and useful.
