Fruits and health

1. Our body requires a lot of proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, calories, fats, enzymes, trace elements, antioxidants for its metabolism. Their aim is to enhance the immune system against the diseases and strengthen our body. To get the optimum health benefits1, it is recommended to eat amount of fresh organic fruits to furnish our body with essential nutrients2. Due to their nutritional and health benefits, it's recommended that fruit and vegetables form the basis of our diet, with a minimum intake of five portions each day - about a third of our daily food consumption. Fruit and vegetables should be included into every meal.

2. Eating fruits and vegetables is one of the best ways to maintain good health. Many dieticians promote vegetables and fruits diet as to look good and feel good. Health benefits can be gained from fresh, tinned (in natural juice), frozen, cooked, juiced or dried versions. They are high in vitamins, minerals and fiber and low in fat and calories.

3. Fruits and vegetables of different colours contain diverse mixtures of phytonutrients (protective plant compounds). These can act as powerful antioxidants, protecting the body from harmful free radicals. Some fruit and vegetables are labelled as “superfoods” because they contain high concentrations of some phytonutrients, which appear to be beneficial to health.

4. Almost everyone can benefit from eating more of them, but variety is as important as quantity. No single fruit or vegetable provides all of the nutrients you need to be healthy. The key lies in the variety of different vegetables and fruits that you eat.

5. Fruit is not only necessary for the body of vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients can provide a rich nutrition; these different colours have different chemical functions. As a rule, the darker and brighter the colour of the vegetable the more vitamins, minerals and fiber they usually contain.

6. Understanding the colour characteristics of fruits, you need a reasonable choice of food. Red fruits, including tomatoes, with its roots as a carotenoid, have antioxidant effects, сan eliminate free radicals, inhibit cancer cell formation and improve the body immunity.

7. Purplish black fruit can eliminate eye fatigue, the component of this fruit can enhance the elasticity of blood vessels to prevent the accumulation of cholesterol, prevent cancer and atherosclerosis. The representatives of fruit are grapes, blackberries, blueberries and plums.

8. Green fruits, such as green apples contain lutein, its antioxidant effect has a protective role in vision.

9. Consumption of fruits and vegetables is one of the best ways to maintain good health.
