Целью изучения курса является:

ознакомление с историей развития английского языка, с особенностями его фонетической, лексической и грамматической систем.

Задачами курса являются:

• характеристика языковых явлений в системе, определение их сущности и функций;

• рассмотрение развития иностранного языка с учётом особенностей его фонетической, лексической и грамматической систем;

• изучение фонетической, лексической и грамматической систем иностранного языка;

• развитие навыков научного анализа и синтеза по изучаемым темам.
