One of the fasters-growing areas for careers is in the field of business and economy. The 21^st century business world changing dramatically. Competition is becoming increasingly global, new markets are opening all over the world.

The new era of business performance requires new business people who know how to start, operate and sustain business and economy as a whole.

Economists are concerned with the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services and are interested in helping society to get as much as possible from its limited resources. They also collect and analyze data to determine the costs and benefits in using these resources in different ways.

Economists can work at different firms, factories, plants, banks, companies. There are also economists who teach and do research at colleges and universities. Economists must have a deep understanding of economic theory, mathematical methods of economic analysis. Nowadays the knowledge of computer science and foreign languages is absolutely necessary for an economist.

5. Economy of Ukraine

Present-day independent Ukraine has a considerable potential to quickly develop its economy. This is explained not only by favorable natural conditions, but also by the convenient geographical position in terms of international trade exchange.

In the current structure of Ukraine’s industry a great proportion is occupied by heavy industry, especially steel, machine-building and coal industry.

Nowadays great changes are taking place in the economy of Ukraine. Output of industrial production augmented gradually. The highest rates of growth were fixed in machine-building, cellulose and paper industry, printing and publishing, and output of non-metal mineral articles.

There is a hope that investment projects in special economic zones and territories of priority development would promote improvement of investment climate in the country in the whole.

6. Economy of Great Britain

Great Britain is one of the most highly industrialized countries in the world. The largest industrial cities of Britain are: London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, Liverpool and Sheffield.

Britain is the one of the largest exporters of automobiles, textile machinery and electronic equipment. Agriculture is one of the largest and most important activities in Great Britain. Four fifths of the land is devoted to it and it provides employment for over a million people.

Great Britain is known to be a highly developed industrial country. There are so called “old” branches of industry which appeared in the period of revolution such as coal-mining, metal industry, engineering and “modern” branches that appeared only after Second World War. Among the modern branches are electro-engineering, electronics, machine-tool industries.

Great Britain is the 5^th largest trading nation in the world. Export of goods and services is equivalent to one fourth of its gross domestic product.

7. The usa economy

The USA is the world’s greatest economic power. The United States economy is based on the free enterprise system. The industrial heart of the nation is the Midwest around the Great Lakes. The northeast is also important. It is the home of the major computers manufactures.

The nation’s fastest growing region is the Southeast, where the chemical industry and high-technology industries are now catching up with traditional textile industry.

Agriculture is one of the biggest and the most basic productive enterprises. It feeds the nation and supplies raw materials to most industries.

The USA is reach in most metals and minerals needed to supply its basic industries. There are iron, coal, oil, natural gas, zinc, copper and silver.

Today, the United States faces some major economic challenges. One important challenge is increasing its productivity, and another is to train people to fill new kinds of jobs in services.
