Farm animals feeding
The aim of the course is to teach bachelors the biological fundamentals of valuable animals feeding and the methods of its control. The course should also teach the methods of physiologically proved, normalized and economically efficient feeding of animals in order to produce valuable and ecologically pure foodstuff.
Learning Outcomes: to teach a future bachelor the methodology of nutrients productivity per unit of area calculation; control overvaluable animals feeding; feed additive calculation and the methods of research experiments on various animals conducting as well as data processing methods. The course should also teach the technologies of valuable feeding of animals of different kinds and ages providing the live-stock production economic efficiency. A bachelor should also obtain knowledge and skills on production of feed, its preparation for feeding and know the efficiency of feeds using in concrete economic zones of our country. A bachelor should also be able to calculate the needs of animals in feeds on a farm; define feeding norms, compose the formulas of granules and briquets and define their nutritive value; compose rations and define their biological food value; develop the formulas of mixed fodder for animals of different kinds and ages depending on their productivity; prepare mixed fodder for ensilage; define the quantity of additives to ensiled fodder; use machines for preparing and distributing feeds, conduct the comparative analysis of various technologies efficiency as for forage preparing, storing and using.
Zoohygiene with grounds of designing animal farm buildings
Contents:
This modular course was designed for students who acquire basic knowledge of interconnection between farm animals’ organisms and environment in order to increase livestock production efficiency. Students study basic foundation of both general hygiene and special hygiene.
Learning Outcomes:
After this course the students will be able to:
use up-to-date methods and techniques in animal nutrition, management and breeding;
function independently in the chosen field of specialization in Animal Science and Animal Breeding and Genetics and to contribute to related fields;
be able to do research autonomously in the field of Animal Science, Animal Breeding, Animal Nutrition and Ecology;
have an adequate level of knowledge and understanding of methods, methodologies, processes, operations, and control in the area of Animal Science, Zoohygiene and Zootechnics;
be innovative and be able to manage innovations in the field of Animal Science, biochemistry, physiology, ethology in animal husbandry;
be able to communicate orally and in writing both in Russian and foreign languages
