VIII. Read and translate the text: my future profession

There are a lot of very important professions: doctors, teachers, economists, engineers and many others. But I think that the profession of an accountant is one of the most popular professions in the modern world and it attracts many young people. An accountant is a professionally trained person whose job is to keep and check the financial records ofн an organization, or to advise people on income, spending and tax.

I had no dilemma in choosing my profession because my mom is a chief accountant in a firm. Like her I am good at figures and my favourite subject at school was Maths. So I made a choice to take her way and to become an accountant long ago. Parents supported me. I decided to enter Cherkasy Banking Institute, the Department of Accounting and Auditing. And now I am a first-year student of this Institute.

I understand that my future work is very responsible. It demands attention, accuracy and, certainly, professional skills and experience. To become a highly-qualified accountant one must be a diligent and hard-working student. After graduating from the Institute I’ll try to do my best to put into practice all the knowledge and skills I’ll obtain during the years of my studying.
