6. University

My name is Irina. I am 18 years old. I would like to say some words about my university. I live and study in Odessa. It is a large city in the southern Ukraine. There are many universities and colleges in Odessa and the city is full of students. However, I chose to study in one of the biggest universities in the city, the Odessa National Economic University. My branch is goods knowing and I’m going to become an expert on goods and services. ONEU was founded in March 1921. Since then it has trained over 100,000 specialists, including a large number of foreign students. I am currently a student of this university and I’m proud of it. I know that many teenagers dream of studying here but the entrance exams are not easy. I had to study hard to become a student of this university. At the moment, I’m also a member of Student Union Committee and I take active part in everyday student life. Our Committee is responsible for the improvement of student facilities, coordinating such student events as concerts, sport events, fund-raising activities, volunteer work, etc Last year, for example, I had a chance to go to England as a member of such exchange but I still had a couple of exams to pass. So, I decided to postpone this opportunity. I hope I can participate in this program next year.

7.The History of "McDonald's" and "Coca-Cola"

In 1937 the McDonnald brothers, Dick and Mark, opened little restaurant in California. They served hot dogs and milk shakes. In 1945 they have 20 waiters. All the teenagers in town ate hamburgers there. When the 1948 year came they got paper boxes and bags for the hamburgers. They put the price down from 30 to 15 cents. There were no more waiters — it was self-service. So it was cheaper and faster.

In 1960s the 'McDonald's company opened hundreds of McDonald's restaurants all over the States. In 1971 they opened restaurants in Japan, Germany and Australia.

Now the McDonald's company opens a new restaurant every 8 hours. There are more than 14,000 restaurants in over 70 countries.

The Coca-Cola story began in Atlanta in 1886. John Pem-berton invented a new drink. Two of the ingredients were the South American coca leaf and the African cola nut, Pember-ton couldn't think of a good name for the drink. Finally, Dr. Pemberton's partner Frank Robinson suggested the name Coca-Cola. Thirty years later the famous Coca-Cola bottle design first appeared.

For many years only Coca-Cola was made. They only introduced new drinks — Fanta, Sprite in the 1960s. The recipe of Coca-Cola is a secret. Today they sell Coca-Cola in 195 countries. Hundreds of millions of people from Boston to Beijing drink it every day. It has the most famous trademark in the world.

8.Effective business negotiation is a core leadership and management skill. This is the ability to negotiate effectively in a wide range of business contexts, including deal making, employment discussions, corporate team building, labor/management talks, contracts, handling disputes, employee compensation, business acquisitions, vendor pricing and sales, real estate leases, and the fulfillment of contract obligations. Business negotiation is critical to be creative in any negotiation in a business setting. Business negotiation strategies include breaking the problem into smaller parts, considering unusual deal terms, and having your side brainstorm new ideas. Leveraging the contrast effect is also a powerful tool in negotiations. You might ask for more than you realistically expect, accept rejection, and then shade your offer downward. Your counterpart is likely to find a reasonable offer even more appealing after rejecting an offer that’s out of the question. Additionally, offering several equivalent offers that aim higher than your counterpart is likely to accept will elicit reactions that can help you frame a subsequent set that, thanks in part to the contrast effect, are more likely to hit the mark.Building a team is critical to negotiations in business. To prevent conflicts among diverse, strong-minded team members from overshadowing group goals, negotiation teams should spend at least twice as much time preparing for upcoming talks as they expect to spend at the table. Because the other side will be ready and willing to exploit any chinks in your team’s armor, it’s important to hash out your differences in advance. Other business negotiation tips include curbing overconfidence, creating value in the negotiation, establishing a powerful BATNA, effective use of emotions at the bargaining table, caucusing, delineating your zone of possible agreement, and other skills geared toward an integrative bargaining outcome rather than a distributive, or haggling, bargaining outcome.  In addition, considering the ethical and legal repercussions of a deal to insure that it is a true win-win is th

ne hallmark of every experienced business negotiator.  Articles include many business negotiation examples, and explore concepts such as creative dealmaking, renegotiating unfavorable deals, seeking advice from a negotiation opponent, identifying a solid BATNA and crafting draft agreements.

9 Discussion About the Future

Each person is responsible for our future world. Almost everyone starts wondering about the future because it is a mysterious thing. Nobody knows exactly what is going to happen next. Today I’m study at the university to get higher education. My dream profession is a forensic expert. After the university I’d like to work in the field of law and get necessary experience. I’m sure many things will have changed by then. For example, people have already started caring about nature and its resources more. An increasing number of “green” projects are being developed, which I think is only for good. First of all, many buildings that try to use solar energy have been built. Green architecture designs environmentally friendly houses. Cars are also gradually switching to hybrid or electric power. Another future advance involves space flights. Even at present days people are interested in flying to the Moon or Mars. Future schools will be also different from where we study today. I think that education will become distant. It means that students will be able to study from their homes, sitting in front of their computers. I don’t think that it’s a good idea because many people will become overweight and less sociable. Other future projects include “smart” houses. These houses will be programmed the way their owners want. For example, the lights will turn on whenever people enter the room and go off when they leave it. The doors will open and close automatically. The fridges will start talking. The robots will do the housework. Many of these future advances are already in use.
