Thickness of the ascending walls
That means the entire thickness of the surrounding walls including all layers (e.g. 0,30 m). At different thicknesses an average has to be applied.
Input of the room surrounding surface
The building elements have to be entered line by line as room surrounding surface. At the dimensions of the building elements the exterior dimensions have to be inserted as length and width, the storey heights as heights of the walls and the wall opening dimensions as dimensions of the windows and doors (regulation for Germany).
For the surface calculation the surfaces which have to be subtracted (e.g. windows) are entered before the surrounding surface (e. g. exterior wall) and marked separately.

All walls, ceilings, roofs, windows and doors which demarcate the room towards outside or towards other rooms belong to the room surrounding surface. All building elements are described by indication about geometry, direction and temperature on the neighbouring side.
