Повелительное предложение (The Imperative Sentence)
Повелительные предложения служат для побуждения собеседника к совершению какого-либо действия. Они выражают приказание, совет, просьбу и т.д. Глагол в повелительном предложении совпадает с начальной формой глагола без частицы to.
to close закрывать → Close the window, please. Закройте окно, пожалуйста.
Отрицательная форма повелительного предложения образуется при помощи отрицания don’t.
Don’t close the window, please. Не закрывайте окно, пожалуйста.
Повелительные предложения, выражающие приказание, произносятся с понижающейся интонацией, а предложения, выражающие просьбу, – с повышающейся интонацией.
