Communicative Focus

Task 9. Collect students’ organizational structure chart descriptions written as a home assignment for checking and grading.

A teacher should hand out the organizational structure chart descriptions written by students as a home assignment at the beginning of the next lesson, checked and commented on by him/her.

Task 10. Suggested answers:

  1. The owner maybe talking about new contract, new perspective for his company.

  2. About new employees or promotions.

  3. Due to fact that Printing Press at Isle of Man is closing, seven people will lose their jobs.

  4. With the help of new equipment at the new factory the ID card printing speeds up, the number of printed ID cards is higher.

Task 11. To be organized exactly as stated in the Student’s Book. Presenters should be asked additional questions by the students and the teacher when their presentation is over. Students’ presentations should not exceed 10 minutes period.

Task 12. To be organized exactly as stated in the Student’s Book.

Task 13. To be organized exactly as stated in the Student’s Book. Each group has 5 minutes for presentation. After the first group presentation the teacher should make a 5 minutes brake. After the presentations students will have 5 minutes for questions and discussion. The teacher should also ask students the following question “Are there more advantages or disadvantages in such form of business as Limited Liability Company”.

Task 14. To be organized exactly as stated in the Student’s Book. Students’ presentations should not exceed 13 minutes period. 20 minutes for the whole activity.

Task 15. To be organized exactly as stated in the Student’s Book. Teacher should emphasise that all the members of board of directors have the same rights in the company, their votes are equal. After watching video for the first time let the students discuss the matter. Then they should watch the video the second time. After that they should vote and give the explanation about their choice. (The whole activity should not exceed 15 minutes).

Home task

On the one hand, a publishing company is a business establishment that primarily issues or publishes printed materials for the main purpose of distribution and sales of available information.

An imprint company, on the other hand, is commonly known as a publishing company’s brand name or trade name. By fact, a single publishing company may comprise of several imprint companies that are utilized by the publisher to promote, advertise, and sell printed works that caters specific customers based on social classes and interests.

While somewhat bigger and larger, a publishing company normally works as a faceless business establishment. Imprint companies, in contrast, have definite names that are known and recognized by the consumers. Because of this, imprint companies are more popular than that of publishing companies.

Publishing companies normally prints under specialized contexts that includes newspapers, periodicals, books, directories, academics, and tie-in which may involve printing for radio and television promos, games, music systems, DVDs, and much more. In the same way, imprint companies follow specific missions and publishes only one kind of reading material, depending in genre or niches.

As a whole, both publishing companies and imprint companies are form of businesses that mainly works for the transmission of information. The latter however functions under the management of the bigger but commonly faceless publishing companies.
