  1. Festival secretariat

If you need more information, you can contact the festival secretariat which is located in the Piazza Festivo “De Peel”, during the festival days (see map 13).

  • Opening hours:

  • Friday April 27, 2012: from 09.00 till 21.00 h.

  • Saturday April 28, 2012: from 08.00 till 16.00 h.

  • Monday April 30, 2012: from 08.00 till 16.00 h.

  • Tuesday May 1, 2012: from 08.00 till 16.00 h.

Outside those opening hours, the festival secretariat can be reached by telephone via the number 0032-11-662339.

  1. Jury performances

All participating groups are expected to be at the indicated hall ONE HOUR before their performance. Rooms to change and warm up are, during this hour, available at the location of the jury concerts.

Eventual rooms to rehearse however, have to be reserved via contacting the festival secretariat.

The making of pictures during the jury performances is forbidden. The festival organization provided pictures that can be downloaded for free via the website www.emj.be.

  • Repertoire:

The groups must perform their repertoire in the order as mentioned in the festival programme booklet! Changes that have been reported before March 1 have been accepted (see festival regulations).

  • Scores:

Every choir delivers three copies of all scores to the jury itself. These scores have to be put in 3 maps in the order as mentioned in the programme booklet and on the cover mentioning the group’s name and place of origin.

The group’s responsible, hands over these 3 maps to the concert venue manager.

Immediately after the jury performance these scores can be obtained at the jury’s secretary’s desk.

NOTE: You have to bring 3 scores yourself. The scores sent to us together with your registration are no longer available.

  • Stage:

For a smooth proceeding of the jury performances, the stage should be entered and left as follows: while the first group is performing, the second group is waiting in the annex. After the performance the first group leaves the hall while the second group enters the stage and the third group lines up in the annex, etc.

  • Silence:

It’s obvious, in order not to disturb the performances, complete silence is required. Nobody is allowed to enter or leave the hall when a choir is performing.

  • Notes:

  • A few weeks after the festival you will receive a written jury report.

  • A room to rehearse that you can use for maximum one hour can be available but has to be demanded via the festival secretariat. Piano’s will not be available in these rooms to rehearse.

  1. PARADE

  • Assemble:

At 16.00h all group members that have finished off their jury concert during the day, will assemble on the playground of the Wico-campus St.-Hubertus (see map 11). The organizers of the parade will indicate the group’s place.

  • Reception:

The conductor, together with one extra choir’s responsible, is invited to the reception in the Town Hall (Gemeentehuis, see map 9) at 16.15 h. They can join the group again when the parade passes the Town Hall.

  • Notes:

The parade goes through the centre of Neerpelt towards the Sports hall of the Provinciaal Domein Dommelhof (see map 1) for the proclamation.

  • We would appreciate it a lot if groups would turn the parade into a musical parade and sing during this walk through the centre of Neerpelt.

  • To add more colour to the parade, we would like to ask the groups to bring their national flag and carry it during the parade.

  • Groups that wear their traditional clothes or uniforms add more colours to our parade as well.
