Position of Adverbs of Frequency

Before the main verb:

  1. I usually get up at 6:00.

  2. He never calls me.

After the verb «be»:

(с) She is always late.

(d) They are rarely happy.

  1. The Plural of Nouns

1. Most words form the plural by adding -s or -es to the singular.

e.g. a tree - trees Note: a leaf - leaves But: a roof - roofs

a city - cities a wife - wives a safe - safes

a bus - buses a life - lives

2. Some words have irregular forms in the plural:

e.g.

child - children

ox -oxen

man - men

woman - women

foot - feet

tooth - teeth

goose - geese

mouse - mice

  1. Some words have the same form for the singular and the plural:

a sheep - two sheep

a Japanese - two Japanese
