Зимой у нас не холодно. 13. Вчера было также холодно, как и сегодня. 14. Отсюда до дома 5 километров. 15. Зима. Холодно. Идет снег. 16. Дождь идет? – Нет, но на небе много облаков. 17. Важно читать много английских текстов. 18. Вчера шел снег? – Нет. 19. Уже поздно и совсем темно. 20. Трудно говорить на иностранном языке без ошибок.
§ 7. Эмфатические конструкции
1) Для выделения (усиления) глаголов-сказуемых в утвердительных и повелительных предложениях используется служебный глагол do. В этом случае do стоит непосредственно перед смысловым глаголом, имеющим форму инфинитива без частицы to, и указывает на время, которое при переводе на русский язык переносится на смысловой глагол, сам же глагол do не переводится.
Для передачи усиления в русском переводе можно использовать слова действительно, все же, наконец и т.д., например:
I do like you! - Ты мне действительно нравишься!
It did cause some difficulties. - Это все же вызвало некоторые трудности.
2) Усилительно-выделительная конструкция it is... that
1. Эта усилительная конструкция служит для выделения любого члена предложения (кроме сказуемого). Два дополнительных элемента it is и that как бы обрамляют выделяемое слово (ее иногда называют "рамочной" конструкцией). Возьмем предложение, в котором при помощи этой конструкции можно выделить все его члены (кроме сказуемого):
My brother threw an egg at the singer yesterday. - Вчера мой брат бросил яйцо в этого певца.
Сравните:
It was mу brother that threw an egg at the singer yesterday (Именно мой брат...)
It was an egg that my brother threw at the singer yesterday (Яйцо, а не что-то другое...)
It was yesterday that my brother threw an egg at the singer (Именно вчера...)
It was the singer that my brother threw an egg at yesterday (Именно в этого певца...)
2. В такой конструкции (вместо that) могут использоваться слова which, who, when, например:
It was he who helped me. Именно он помог мне.
Следует также помнить, что первый элемент этой конструкции - it is - стоит в начале предложения, а второй - that, who, which, when - может находиться далеко от первого, что затрудняет обнаружение конструкции. Глагол to be в этой конструкции может иметь разные формы времени.
Можно предложить два способа перевода предложений с такой конструкцией:
а) найдя второй элемент (that, which, who, when), всю конструкцию (все три служебных слова) заменить словами типа именно, только, это, как раз и продолжать перевод, сохраняя порядок слов английского предложения, например:
It is the unexpected that always happens. - Именно неожиданное всегда и случается.
It was he who informed us about the results of their work. - Это он сообщил нам о результатах их работы.
It was not until 1970 that he published his book. - И только в 1970 г. он опубликовал свою книгу.
В последнем примере можно наблюдать два "нарушения" грамматического строя предложения: усилительная конструкция it is... that и двойное отрицание not until. Усилительная конструкция отражена в слове только, а два отрицания (минус на минус) дают утвердительную форму. Еще пример:
It was not until late at night that he came home. - И только поздно ночью он пришел домой.
б) выделяемое слово или группа слов выносятся в конец предложения (без использования дополнительных лексических элементов), так как в русском предложении смысловая нагрузка падает на конец предложения, например: It was Prof. N., who was elected chairman of the session. - Председателем собрания был избран профессор H.
