She said, "I want to learn Chinese." Sharon shouted, "I don't like to study after school." She said, "I don't know much about my family." She said (that) she didn't know much about her family.
Если же после to say имеется дополнение (обязательно с предлогом to, например – said to me), то to say заменяется глаголом to tell (далее дополнение без предлога to):
Примечание 2: Однако с такими указаниями времени, как the day before, two years before и т.
(Future – in – the - Past). Shall/will заменяются на should/would соответственно:
Примечание: Если в прямой речи были модальные глаголы, то те из них, которые имеют формы прошедшего времени, изменятся в косвенной речи: can на could, may на might, have (to) на had (to).

Типичными вопросительными словами в этих вопросах являются: who кто, when когда, where где, куда, why почему, which который, whose чей и т.п.

Exercise 6 Translate into English 1. 7. Косвенные приказания и просьбы вводятся глаголами, выражающими просьбу: to ask просить, to beg просить, умолять, to implore умолять или команду, приказание: to tell сказать, велеть, приказать, to order приказывать, to allow разрешать, to warn предупреждать и др.
е. после глаголов to ask, to order и т.
