Seminar: The bbc and public service journalism

Seminar/essay question:

Outline and evaluate the principles of public service broadcasting underpinning the creation and development of the BBC. Focusing on one or more historical examples, consider to what extent these values have been realised in the face of national crisis and/or commercial pressures.

Review and development tutorials with seminar group leaders. These will take place in the afternoon in the Journalism Office: arrange the exact time with your tutor.

Term 2 ends on Friday 1 April. Term 3 starts on Tuesday 3 May. The 2,500-word research essay on periodicals must be handed in immediately after the Easter break at the seminar on Thursday 5 May.
