Card 2 Ситуация

Вы собираетесь сделать доклад о США. Спросите своего учителя:

-Какие пункты вам следует осветить

-Где вы можете найти информацию

-Как долго должен длиться доклад

-Будете ли вы выступать в разных классах

Student: Good morning, Teacher. I’d like to talk to you about the report I have to give. Do you think you’ve got some time to discuss it with me?

Teacher: Yes, sure. What would you like to talk about?

Student: Well, there is so much to say about the USA that I don’t know what to start with. What do you think I should speak about in the first place?

Teacher: I believe you should start with general information about the USA, which is in my opinion an essential part of any talk. Do you agree?

Student: Yes, I agree with you, but that’s not enough. I’d also like to include information about the native peoples of the USA, their lifestyle and culture. What do you think about it?

Teacher: Great idea. I’m sure the children will be really excited top get to know about it. In fact, little is said about native peoples of the USA and their culture in your textbooks.

Student: Unfortunately. Where can I find the information? Could you help me?

Teacher: Sure. Firstly, you may use the Internet, and secondly, I’ve got some books at home and I can bring them tomorrow if you like.

Student: I’d be very grateful if you would. And how long should the talk be? Is there a time limit?

Teacher: Certainly. The talk shouldn’t be very long. The time limit should be five minutes.

Student: OK, I see. And the last thing. My friends from other grades want to know if students from different grades are allowed to be present at the conference.

Teacher: I hope they are.

Student: That’s fine. I’ll invite my friends then. Thank you for your help.

Teacher: I wish you the best of luck.

Student: Thanks. I think I should start working immediately. Good bye, teacher.

Card 1 Ситуация

Ваш друг только что вернулся из Шотландии. Спросите его/её:

  • Где он побывал

  • Что произвело на него наибольшее впечатление

  • Почему ему понравилось путешествие

  • Что он/она советует посмотреть в Шотландии

Student: Hi, I haven’t seen you for ages.

Teacher: Yes, it’s been a long time since we met.

Student: where have you been?

Teacher: Oh, I’ve just come back from Scotland.

Student: Scotland? Sounds great. I’ve always wanted to visit this mysterious land, full of myths and legends. What places of interest did you visit?

Teacher: We spent 3 days in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, and then we saw Loch Ness and some ancient castles.

Student: Hope it was an exciting experience. Could you tell me what impressed you most?

Teacher: Haunted castles, of course, and legends about them. Stories about Robert Bruce and William Wallis are worth mentioning, too.

Student: Do people still wear kilts in Scotland?

Teacher: They do, but only on special occasions.

Student: Oh, I can’t tell you how much I feel jealous of you. A group of students and teachers are planning a visit to Scotland this summer. I hope I can afford it. What places in Scotland would you advise me to see?

Teacher: If I were you I’d definitely visit Edinburgh. Then you could walk in the mountains and enjoy one of the festivals which are held every year.

Student: Thank you very much. I’m going to dream of nothing but my trip to Scotland.

Teacher: I’m sure you’ll have a great time there.

Student: So am I. Good bye, friend.
