Psychology as a science

From the earliest times people interested of the internal peace of human. Term “psychological ” occurred from the words – psycho – that mean the soul and – logos – that’s mean learning. Platon and Aristotle the philosophers of antiquity were interested in the problem of soul. The date of the appearance discovery the first experimental laboratory by Wundt in Leipzig in 1879.

Psychology is since which consist scientific and practical knowledge. It studies mind and behavior, emotion and feelings of the human. It studies human, group of people from the different side. Psychology includes such division as children’s psychology, psychology of personality, medical psychology and many other.

Psychology is famous for such greatest name as Wundt, Fromm, Froude, Ericson, Ung and other.

In Russia psychology started with works of psychology as Pavlov and Bekhterev. Russia psychologist is famous for such greatest names as Vigotski. Leontive, Rubenstein and other.

Clinical psychologist.

Clinical psychologist it is very interesting and difficult profession. In our country we have any faculty in different cities such as St. Petersburg, Moscow and Kursk. Clinical psychologist studying for 5 years in each of this cities. Psychological education include lections, seminars and practices. Discipline at the department of psychology are divided into three blocks: humanities, social studies and sciences of professional disciplines. Humanities disciplines include History of Russia, philosophy, logic, ethics and political science. One of the most important disciplines is foreign language. English is most popular foreign language. In the life science block we study Anatomy, Morphology of CNS, Anthropology, Physiology CNS, Mathematical methods in psychology. Fundamental education in psychology consist of courses such as Introduction to Psychology, History of Psychology, Experimental psychology and other.

Each student at our faculty has a choice of specialization. It is specialization of clinical psychologist and research psychologist. After graduation clinical psychologist can work in psychological consultation centers, schools, hospitals. All of graduates can work as a teachers of psychology.

Central nervous system

CNS is most important system in the human body, because it control all functions of the body. Specifies functions of CNS is emotions, perception, thinking and reflexes.

All part o the CNS are interrelated. The CNS includes all the nerves in the brain and spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system consists of the nerves leading from the brain and spinal cord ti the parts of the body. The peripheral nervous system is subdivided into the somatic and automatic system.

The nerves of the somatic system transmit information about internal stimulation from the skin, muscles. Such external stimulation as pain, temperature.

The nerves of autonomic system run to and from the internal organs, regulating such process as respiration, heart rate, digestion. The autonomic nervous system has two divisions – the symptomatic and parasymptomatic.

Our brain consist 2 hemisphere, hamed left hemisphere and right hemisphere. Left hemisphere is center of abstraction thinking. The largest part of the brain is the cerebrum.

Our brain include such divisions as cerebellum, medulla oblongata, pons, thalamus, hypothalamus. Function of the cerebellum is coordination of movements and muscular tone. The pons consist nevers tracts. Function of medulla oblongata is respiratory, heart reating and other. Spinal cord include white and grey substance. Grey substance look like a butterfly.
