Announcement of the 7th International Competition for Young Choral Conductors

The competition is open for young musicians

born after 1 April 1978 and before 1 April 1995.

Official language of the competition is English.

Deadline for applications (for active participants):

30^th November 2012, exclusively by E-mail

A letter of confirmation and invitation will be sent out until 15^st December 2012.

Applications for admission require the following documents (only for active participants):

• application form (in English, by E-mail)

• curriculum vitae / biography (in English, by E-mail)

• 1 colour photo (by E-mail)

• a video recording of a choir concert or rehearsal on which the conducting and/or rehearsing skills of the competitor can be clearly seen (strictly max. 15 minutes), recording date may not be prior to 1^st January 2012 (the video should be uploaded to a video sharing website like Youtube, Vimeo, etc., please send only the website link by E-mail)

• recommendation letter of the conducting professor / a reputable choral expert / the national choral organization in your country (in English, by E-mail)

• the scanned copy of the bank transfer payslip about the 30€ application fee (by E-mail)

Application fee: 30 € (non-refundable)

To be paid upon the application, only by active participants (applications with application fee not paid will be automatically rejected)!

Please note that this fee has to arrive to the bank account by November 30^th so please lauch the bank transfer on November 26^th at the latest!

The application fee has to be transferred to the bank account of the Central Eastern European Centre (CEEC) of European Choral Association – Europa Cantat in Hungary (working under the legal entity of the Association of Hungarian Choirs and Orchestras - KÓTA).

Passive participants may also apply to the competition, with 50 € discount from the regular participation fee!

Passive participants and all those actives ones who will have fallen out of various rounds of the competition shall have the opportunity to participate in a study tour, watching and discussing the competition proceedings assisted by a renowned and experienced conductor.

For passive participants the deadline for application is 1^st February 2013. Please mark your participation status on the Application Form!

The jury is international and consists of 7 members.

Prizes: 1^st prize: 1,000 €

2^nd prize: 850 €

3^rd prize: 750 €

Accommodation Comfortable hotel in double bedrooms with breakfast (on request also in

The participation fee includes one meal a day (lunch or dinner). For participants who have booked an accommodation, breakfast is included in the hotel costs.

Participation and accommodation fees shall have to be paid only after one’s application has been accepted and confirmed!
