1. Я бы предпочел, чтобы Вы прекратили сотрудничество с кандидатом на пост вице-президента, так как это может привлечь внимание средств массовой информации.

2. Жаль, что никто из приглашенных журналистов не пришел на ток-шоу. Если бы они пришли, то смогли бы принять участие в обсуждении последних событий, происходящих в мире. Нам очень хотелось, чтобы журналисты тоже смогли высказать свою точку зрения.

• Words referring to increases and decreases (like rise, fall, etc) can be followed by of or in. Of refers to an amount. In refers to the thing that has increased or decreased.

• Connection, relationship + with/between

One thing has a link with another.

There is a link between two things.

Words that can be followed by either preposition include: connection, link, relationship, contrast, difference.

There is a connection/relationship/contrast with what happened last year

There is a connection/relationship/contrast between last year and this year.

• Need, wish, request + for

Nouns meaning 'need' or 'request' have for after them. Examples include: application for, demand for, need for, order for, preference for, request for.

• Market + in, on, onto

be in the market for something to want to by sth:

Most people are not in the market for this kind of product.

on the market available to buy:

Computers as powerful as this are not yet on the market. We are going to put our house on the market.

come onto the market become available to buy

Some very attractive properties will be coming onto the market next month.
