4. Translate into English

Деловые люди, совершающие поездки, должны быть готовы к встречам (столкновениям) с новыми светскими и деловыми обычаями по всему миру. Приветствия, жесты и способы обращения – все это является потенциальными опасностями за границей. Различие между пониманием культуры и игнорированием её условностей может быть мерилом успеха или неудачи (провала) за границей. В западных странах работники вознаграждаются за проявление инициативы, однако другие культуры действуют на основе повиновения прямым приказам. Желательно ознакомиться с основами делового и светского этикета. Также важно быть чутким к иным культурам и проявлять заинтересованность, и, по крайней мере, элементарное знание страны, которую вы посещаете.

Если Вы являетесь деловым человеком, собирающимся вести переговоры в другой стране, обязательно потратьте некоторое время на подготовку к встрече с другими деловыми и культурными стилями. В качестве части подготовки к Вашей поездке, посещайте межкультурные семинары или организуйте встречу с консультантом, который является специалистом по культуре страны, которую вы собираетесь посетить. Важно узнать об этикете преподнесения подарков, приветствий, способов обращения и жестов. Например, преподнесение подарков является иногда неотъемлемой частью переговорного процесса при ведении бизнеса за рубежом. Изучите этикет страны, перед тем как отправлять подарок зарубежному клиенту или деловому партнеру. Никогда не дарите настольные часы Вашему китайскому партнеру, так как это является знаком неудачи. Во Франции, не дарите ничего с логотипом Вашей компании, поскольку они считают подобные предметы безликими и в плохом вкусе. Попытайтесь расширить свое понимание страны и культуры, иначе Вы можете обнаружить, что Ваше поведение выглядит оскорбительным.
