Introduction

Novosibirsk State Technical University was the first technological university in Siberia that opened the faculty of humanities in an attempt to meet society’s demands in specialists in the fields that are not typical of engineering education although closely related to it.

The Faculty offers diverse opportunities in humanities and social sciences and is gaining recognition for strength and excellence of its programmes. The curricula are designed to expose students to a full range of human experiences through a consideration of cultural peculiarities, patterns of social and political behaviour, and methods of critical enquiry.
