3. A) Comment on the expression from the text. Work out other possible variants of its usage.

a) “She couldn’t watch and hugged her sister out of fear.”

out of necessity — по необходимости

b) “Oh my, yes,” said the Professor with a smile. “Best to keep your eyes open.”

keep one's eyes open (be on the alert; watch carefully for something) - смотреть в оба; держать ухо востро

eg Many of them are very unscrupulous and would be glad to do you harm. So be careful, and keep your eyes well open! — Много среди них людей бессовестных, и они будут рады навредить вам. Возможны неприятности. Будьте осторожны и смотрите в оба!

b) Give translations using the above mentioned expressions:

Visitors should keep their eyes open for lions.

4. Give the literary translation to the following:

“The Witch has learned the Deep magic well. But if she could have looked back further, into the stillness before the dawn of time, she would have seen there was a different incantation. That when a willing victim who has committed no treachery is killed in the traitor’s stead... the Table would crack and even death itself would start working backwards,” proclaimed Aslan and then he gave a mighty roar. The roar was so strong that Lucy thought it must surely fill the whole of Narnia.

5. A) Fill in the gaps with suitable words from the box below. Translate the sentences paying attention to the verbs of movement.
