Question:
What information shall be included in the NOTAM?
TEXT 8
The Integrated Aeronautical Information Package
Part 1
Content:
Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) including Amendments; Supplements to the AIP; NOTAM; Checklists; Summaries; Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC); Pre-Flight Information Bulletins (PIB).
AIP
The AIP is intended primarily to satisfy international requirements for the exchange of aeronautical information of a lasting character essential for air navigation.
The AIP constitutes the basic information source for permanent information and long duration temporary changes.
The AIP consists of 3 parts: General (GEN)
En-route (ENR)
Aerodromes (AD)
Amendments to the AIP
Permanent changes to the AIP shall be published as AIP Amendments
Amendments shall be allocated a consecutive serial number.
The interval of publishing Amendments can be chosen by the State.
When no AIP Amendment will be published at the established publication date, a NIL notification shall be originated and distributed by the monthly printed plain-language summary of NOTAM in force.
AIP Supplements
Temporary changes of long duration (3 months or longer) and information which contains extensive text/graphics shall be published as AIP Supplement.
Supplements shall be allocated a consecutive serial number based on the calendar year.
When an AIP Supplement replaces a NOTAM, it shall include reference to the serial number of the NOTAM.
A checklist of AIP Supplements in force shall be issued with the monthly NOTAM summary.
Questions:
What is the content of the Integrated Aeronautical Information Package?
What does AIP stand for?
What is the AIP intended primarily to?
What shall be published as AIP Amendments?

The Integrated Aeronautical Information Package
Part 2
Checklist
A checklist of NOTAM currently in force shall be issued over the AFTN at intervals of not more than 1 month.
A checklist of NOTAM shall refer to the last AIP Amendments, AIP
Supplements and at least the internationally distributed AIC.
A checklist shall have the same distribution as the actual message series to which they refer.
Summary
A monthly printed plain-language summary of NOTAM in force including the indications of the latest AIP Amendments, checklist of AIP Supplements and AIC issued, shall be prepared and forwarded by the most expeditious means to recipients of the Integrated Aeronautical Information Package.
Aeronautical Information Circular (AIC)
An AIC shall be originated when it is necessary to disseminate aeronautical information which does not qualify for promulgation in AIP or NOTAM such as:
A long-term forecast of any major changes in legislation, regulations, procedures or facilities
Information of a purely explanatory or advisory nature liable to effect flight safety
Information/notification of explanatory or advisory nature concerning technical, legislative or purely administrative matters.
The originating State shall select the AIC that are to be given international distribution.
Those selected AIC shall be given the same distribution as for the AIP.
Questions:
What is ‘Checklist’?
What is ‘Summary’?
When shall Aeronautical Information Circular be originated?
