- Craig received a telephone call from Boston. A director friend of his, Jack Lowton asked Craig to come up to Boston and look at a musical comedy he was staging.

- A musical comedy was on that night.

- The show wasn't a success. It made no impression on the audience.

- Jack Lowton had asked Craig to tell what he thought about the show, so after it Craig met the director.

- Craig said the show was bad and it was better for Jack to quit show-business. At first, the director agreed. But soon, even without noticing that he got down to work again.
