A woman has been murdered. Her body was discovered at seven o’clock this morning. She had been stabbed. What happens next? In fiction, the crime would probably be solved by a brilliant detective. But in real life crimes aren’t usually solved like that. Most criminals are caught by scientists.
The police have been called, but the room isn’t touched until the experts arrive – the pathologist, the photographer, and the detective. Then the evidence is collected and the things are taken to the police laboratories. Here they will be examined by forensic scientists. The evidence will be used to find and try a suspect.
