3.7 The Business Plan
Now draw up the final business plan. This final plan is a team product. Ensure that ‘third parties’ will get a good picture of the entrepreneurs and the company, the envisaged market and the operating procedure. Also give a clear description of the financial aspects of the enterprise.
The business plan will have to meet the following requirements:
a front page with a title, a picture, the names of the members of the project team, the date and the name of the tutor;
table of contents.
a clear and legible layout;
checked spelling;
use of headers and footers;
numbered pages;
a table, graph or plan where these are required and where they serve to illustrate the text;
list of sources (articles, books, Internet addresses);
Criteria of assessment
marketing plan
financial plan
contents (originality vs. feasibility)
language
structure (“Does it make sense?”)
layout (appeal and readability)
Final presentation
At the conclusion of the project each team has to give a ten minute presentation of its business plan: six minutes for the actual (PowerPoint) presentation and four minutes for the defence. This will be judged by a competent jury, some of them will have read your report before the presentation but not all. You will get further details of the programme at the end of the project.
The Presentation will have to meet the following requirements:
no longer than 6 minutes, followed by 4 minutes of defence;
using PowerPoint, but without too many elaborate additions
a sales presentation to get the bank interested to invest in your idea, so nice and smooth, no unnecessary and unimportant details (the audience has already read your report!);
make it FIREWORKS!
